Contract Seal [Canon]

1. Does the user need handsigns to create the seal, and if so which ones/how many?
2. Is the contract removal permanent or is this going to be a temporary separation?
3. In canon, I'm not sure about this sending the summon back but when used against the nine tails (both times) it removed it's control from the user (being Tobi and Madara) but the nine tails remained behind to rampage on it's own.

The seal is applied through direct contact without the need for hand seals, meaning that the user has to touch the person that they wish to apply the seal to.
